Going Strong!

The Going Out of Business Sale is going strong!  We've moved lots of inventory, but we still have lots left!

As I've been looking around the shop, I realized that I have no room at home for my trustworthy and wonderful Matchless DT Spinning Wheel that has been at the shop on display. is with a heavy heart that I'm letting this one go on to a new home.

The wheel also comes with 3 wood bobbins (not the travel bobbins), the lazy kate, two whorls that were included with the wheel, carrying strap and an orifice hook.  This wheel is in excellent condition and will last you a lifetime!  I'm asking $850 - cash (since this is not a shop inventory item and is my personal wheel, we can not run this through the store register).  Truth be told, I am only parting with this wheel because I have another Matchless at home and do not have room for another wheel.  List price on this wheel if you were to purchase new is $1175.00, so it's a pretty darn good deal!

With the new discounts announced last Thursday, people are picking up some great deals!  We have sold about 1/3 of our inventory as of this point, but there is still plenty of inventory left (and I promised my husband that I won't bring it home with me!).

With the fiber festival/spinning season coming up, I did want to let you know that we sold one of our Sidekick Spinning Wheels, but still have one remaining (BRAND NEW - In an unopened box!).  We also still have the Louet Julia floor model wheel, but the Ashford Joy floor model has been sold.

If anyone is interested, I do have a Fancy Kitty Blending Board that I would like to sell.  This is not an inventory item, but is from my personal equipment at home.  As I'm getting more and more into weaving, I find that I am not so interested in preparing my own rolags for spinning, so I would like this to go to a good home.  It's been used ONE time and was purchased for $169.  I am asking $125.00 for the complete set and have it at the shop, if anyone is interested in taking a look.

On another personal note, I would like to thank everyone for their great messages, hugs, and comments about the shop.  I really do appreciate all the nice words that you have given to me.  We have had a great shop, and I do want to give a big THANK YOU to my staff - they've been one of the shop's biggest assets.

More Than Yarn!

First, I do want to say how great the last few days have been, catching up with everyone that has stopped into the shop!   All of your well wishes, whether in person or via email, have been so appreciated!

There are some great deals to be had with all the yarn on sale, but did you know that all of our spinning supplies, including fiber, wheels, bobbins (we have lots of Schacht bobbins for the Sidekick, Ladybug and Matchless in stock and they are all interchangeable), and more are also on sale?

We have two BRAND NEW SCHACHT SIDEKICK SPINNING WHEELS in stock and marked down 20%!  If you've been in the market for a spinning wheel, this is a great deal!

We have floor models of the Louet Julia Spinning Wheel, Schacht Cricket Looms, and the Ashford 20" Knitters Loom and Stand marked down at a fantastic price!  They are all in like-new condition, but have serious markdowns!  This is a great time to walk away with a steal of a price on some great equipment.

If you've been thinking of venturing into spinning or weaving, now is your chance!

I have made the decision to close Knitter's Palette Yarn Shop.  This was not an easy decision for me, but I believe that it is the right decision.  There have been several major events that have happened both at the store and in my family's personal life in the past month that have made the decision to close that much easier to make.  The shop has been successful enough that this is somewhat difficult, however, as the time drew closer to having to sign another lease term with the property owners of this center, I had to start weighing the pros and cons of running a retail business.

Starting up Knitter's Palette was something that I will never regret.  We have THE MOST AMAZING customers.  It has been so rewarding to see friendships form through the shop, babies being born and the proud mothers and grandmothers picking out the perfect knitting project to make for that new baby.  We have shared the highest of highs and the lowest of lows with our customers and friends and it has been amazing.  But, now it is time for me to move on.  I'm excited to get to know my family again.  I have parents that aren't getting any younger that I would like to be able to spend more time with.  I have two great daughters that have turned into beautiful young ladies and I would like to spend more time with them also.  And the grandchildren - I need to have a more flexible schedule to allow my grandchildren to get to know me, and not just be the grandma that always has to work.  My husband has been my greatest supporter, but I know that he would also like us to be able to spend more time together.   So, it is now time to make my family my priority.

I still have a little bit of time remaining on my current lease, so we will be around for a little while more.  To start our closing sale, I'm offering 20% OFF ALL INVENTORY (40% OFF THE ITEMS IN THE SALE SECTION), excluding special orders.  As the time gets closer to the final day, we'll be adjusting the discounts to larger amounts.  As of today, all sales are final, we will not be accepting returns or issuing any gift cards, and I will no longer be taking special orders.  We will still be holding scheduled classes and shop Knit-Alongs.  If you have gift cards, I encourage you to redeem them as soon as possible.

Stay tuned to our Ravelry group, our Facebook Page, and this shop blog to get more announcements regarding additional discounts on the shop inventory as we get closer to our last day.  If you are interested in any of the fixtures in the shop, let me know.

Most importantly, I sincerely appreciate the opportunity that I have had to help you with your fiber needs these past 8 years.  I have met some great people and have made some lifelong friends.  I hope to see you during our Closing Sale.

Best Regards,
