Ooooohhhh.....Pretty!

Warning - today's post will be chock full of "pretty"!

Mr. UPS and Mr. Fed Ex have been hoppin' the past few days running into the shop with boxes and boxes of goodies!

The end of last week was another delivery of Madelinetosh!  Since I was out sick that day, I didn't get any photos snapped of the yarn before it was priced and put out on the shelves (I know!  Can you believe that I was sick on a MadTosh delivery day?  Just my rotten luck.)  It was a great sized order, so we still have plenty to pick from - this order has Madelinetosh Vintage and Tosh DK.

The next day was a delivery from Malabrigo with some Rastita, Sock, Rios, Mecha and Rasta.  Our Wall of Malabrigo is looking quite good!

One of my favorite colorways in Malabrigo is their Arco Iris, and I'm happy to say that we received several of the yarn bases in this great color.

A few weeks ago, we received a new yarn into the shop called Peppino:
Peppino in the Carousel colorway

Peppino is a fingering weight, hand-painted yarn brought to us by The Yarns of Rhichard Devrieze.  This yarn is absolutely beautiful - 100% merino and squishy soft!  We loved this one so much that we've already received another order!
Colors in our latest order!

Today's extra-large box was a shipment of YARN BOWLS!!!  I've had these on order for about two months, so I was very excited to unpack them this morning.  There are many different colors and styles to pick from.  They are just fun and whimsical - love 'em!
Just two of the bowls available!

For the weavers-on-the-go, how about a cute little pin loom?

Schacht now has Zoom Looms, perfect for travel weaving, or sampling.  There are also some great projects on the Schacht website, if you need some ideas.  Do you have kids at home for the summer that are already complaining about being bored?  This just might be the perfect craft project to keep them busy on some of the rainy days of summer.

For those of you that aren't in our Ravelry group, we've been doing some monthly KAL's (Knit-Alongs).  Our June KAL is a fun shawl called "To The Point".  There's still time to dive in and cast on......It's a great project and one that you don't have to concentrate too hard on, so it's a great one to do while you're watching TV, sitting on the deck or patio, or to take along on your summer weekend getaways!

And don't forget to enter our June Give-Away for a chance to win a copy of The Art of Seamless Knitting

Go here to read the very minimal rules and enter to win!  The drawing will be held this Friday!

Weaving and our June Newsletter!

Weaving seems to be really ramping up in popularity!  Did you know that we run weaving classes at the shop and usually have one or two scheduled each month?  We start you out on a rigid heddle loom and show you how fun and easy weaving really is!

Of course, some of our students have graduated onto larger looms, whether it is a larger rigid heddle loom, or even a floor loom!

If you're interested, please contact us and we can get you on our call list for our next Learn To Weave Class!  In the meantime, I am in the process of warping up the Baby Wolf floor loom at the shop.

The project is going to be some pillows for our front seating area!

Speaking of looms, we are expecting a shipment today of the Schacht Zoom Loom!

The Zoom Loom is small and compact and easy to take along any where, any time.
•The sloping interior edge guides your weaving needle.
•Graceful extended sides are easy to hold.
•Molded-in instructions on the front and back are always there when you need them.
•A handy slot holds the starting yarn without knotting.
•Made in Boulder, Colorado!

The Zoom Loom comes in an attractive carrying case. A 6" weaving needle and a 3" yarn needle are included, as well as a full-color instruction book with three projects.  Schacht also has some projects on their website including this darling bag

Also, our Newsletter for June is available here for those of you not on our email list.

June.....Already?

Wow, time has gotten away from me.  Does anyone know where May went?

We had a great time during our Memorial Day Weekend Sale, and I hope that you all got some great bargains!

And, we're starting to resupply our shelves after the sale!

First up are the new June colorways from Classic Elite in the Liberty Wool -

#7831 Psychedelic Sweetness

#7832 Sylvan Shadow
Our customers love Liberty Wool for hats, scarves, mittens, even baby sweaters!  It's a worsted weight yarn, 100% wool, but machine washable and very soft to the touch.

We also received in a new fingering weight hand-painted yarn from The Yarns of Rhichard Devrieve.  I've been knitting up some Turkish Bed Socks from this and am in love!

In addition to the Turkish Bed Socks pattern from Churchmouse Yarns, this yarn will also be perfect for the Linen Stitch Scarf, or their Ruffle Scarf, to name a few more options.  As an added bonus, the put-up for this yarn is 65 gram hanks and 225 yards per hank, so you can get a nice pair of socks out of two hanks without having to skimp on the legs of your socks!

Even though it's June, we're already starting to receive some new inventory for Fall/Winter including the new colors of Noro Kureyon and Noro Silk Garden!
