Grumbling

I'm hearing lots of grumbling out there regarding the arrival of Spring today and how it's not feeling very Spring-ish outside.  Surprisingly, I'm not all that bothered!  I look at it as just more opportunity to wear my sweaters, mittens, scarves, and cowls.  Yes, today I have a nice heavy hand-knit sweater on, and I'm perfectly happy!  Warm weather will be here soon, and it is nice and sunny out today.  :)

Speaking of sweaters:

We've added another sweater class to the schedule.  This one would be perfect for those of you that have never knit one before, and the designer is one of my favorites!
All the details and even sign ups can be found here.

I finished up my Steeked Ursula Cardigan from Kate Davies' book, Colours of Shetland.
I loved every minute of this project so much that I've decided to cast on another sweater from the same book in April.  A couple of members of our Ravelry Group have decided to join in, so we're having a Colours of Shetland KAL!   My next project will be the Scatness Tunic, but there are also other projects in the book, if you are a little intimidated by a steeked sweater project.  We'll be starting our projects in April.  (Don't forget, we have a steeking class on the schedule for those of you that intrigued by being able to cut your knitted fabric, but haven't done it before.)

And, finally, our March newsletter went out last week.  For those of you that aren't on our email list, you can click here to view it.

Don't fret about Spring.....before we know it, we'll be complaining about how hot it is outside!

Stuffed!

Our New Arrival section is STUFFED full of wonderful new yarns!

I'm going to break the New Arrival announcements into several posts over the next couple of days to make it a tad easier to blog about them.

Today's New Arrivals are brought to us by Classic Elite Yarns!

We have their new yarn for spring/summer called Canyon in stock.

Canyon is a blend of 85% Pima Cotton/15% Alpaca and comes to us in 4 colorways of naturally undyed fibers.

The recommended gauge for this yarn is 6 stitches per inch on a US #4 needle, and there is a great little pattern booklet available with a great shawl/scarf, and some great summer sweaters including this gem:

Another yarn that we have from Classic Elite is Firefly.  While this isn't a new yarn, we love the sheen, drape,  softness, and colorways in this yarn that we've restocked it again for this season!
Firefly is a blend of 75% Viscose/25% Linen and knits up with a recommended gauge of 6 stitches per inch on a US #5 needle.

Once again, there's a great pattern booklet for this yarn also with a very cute summer scarf:
or how about this cute little summer top:

More colors in Classic Elite's Silky Alpaca Lace yarn are here also!

And.......
The new colorways for March in Liberty Wool are here!
This colorway is called "Cupcake".
And this colorway is called "Rose Explosion".

Be sure to stop in to see all the new arrivals out and ready to go!  I'll be back in the next day or so with a new blog post featuring more "good stuff".

And, if that's not enough, we're still adding classes to the schedule!  Yes, we run classes year-round!

Join us to knit Cinnie - this is the PERFECT cardigan for spring/summer and is great for those of you that haven't tackled a lace pattern yet, (or even for you experienced lace knitters!).

Knit in one piece with some great construction techniques, you'll get quite a lot of wear out of this cardigan this summer.  Sign ups can be taken online here, in person, or by phone!

Lambing Season?

I'm not a shepherd, but I know that late winter/early spring usually means that it is "lambing season".

Well, here at Knitter's Palette, we're having our own kind of Lambing Season!

These Peep Totes are fun, bright, and ready for your knitting project!  Large enough for even a sweater project and nice pockets on the inside as well as the adorable outside pocket that the little lamb is "peeping" out of.

OK, so these technically aren't knitting related, but I couldn't resist these baby onesies with the darling sheep motif on the front.  Size is 0-3 months and available in blue, orange, pink and green.  Soft, soft cotton for that tender baby skin!

Who wouldn't want a lamb rucksack for Easter?  Skip the basket and knit up one of these cuties for the holiday!  Available in pink, blue and green!

The darling Peep mugs are back in stock and just scream springtime to me!  Enjoy that relaxing cup of coffee or tea with these darling mugs.

Last, but not least, how about some darling stitch markers for your current knitting project?

See?  Spring is just around the corner!
