For Lack of a Better Title - MISC!

I love Kate Davies' designs.  I've been a fan of her patterns for quite some time, and have knit several of her patterns.

When I found out that we got the "OK" to carry the Jamieson and Smith yarns in the shop, I was also thrilled to be able to stock Kate's patterns!  Kate's colorwork patterns and the Jamieson & Smith yarns just kind of go hand-in-hand.

I was equally thrilled to receive Kate's new book, Colours of Shetland for the shop!  Beautiful patterns including tams, cardigans, mittens and more, and stunning photos of the projects with the Shetland Islands as a back drop.  If nothing else, this is a great book to page through just for the stunning photographs, but I can assure you, you'll be wanting to pick up the needles to knit the projects - they are that good!
(Please excuse my "fan-girl" post about Kate!)

We're also restocked with Yarn Bowls too, although this might be it for a while.  My potter is retiring at the end of this month, so until I find another great supplier.........
In the meantime, we did receive 10 bowls in this order, so there are plenty to choose from, for now!  Hurry though, because these do tend to move fast.

And we did manage to sneak a few more classes on the schedule.

Our Magic Loop Sock class is always very popular and fills very fast.  While our evening class is full, we thought we would try a daytime class.  Dates and times can be found here, as well as convenient online sign ups!

If you've taken our Weaving 101 class, and are interested in learning a different weave structure, we have a nice one day class to teach you how to weave a lacey scarf.  This class is scheduled for Sat., 2/9.  Details and sign ups can be found here.

It's January.....it's cold and brutal out there, so we might as well CRAFT ON, right?

Color in January!

We've been having so much fun playing with all the pretty colors that we now have in the Jamieson & Smith 2-ply Jumper Weight yarn (10 more arrived yesterday).
Isn't that a pretty picture to look at in mid-January where we are practically void of any color outside?

Quite a few of you have been asking for a colorwork/steeking class, and we're happy to oblige!

We have a great class on the schedule which uses this great yarn (you'll see just how great it is for your colorwork projects).  If you're a tea drinker, you will definitely want to take this class.  If not, I can guarantee that you'll be hunting for the perfect teapot after taking the class and knitting this darling tea cosy!
You'll be learning SO many techniques including stranded colorwork, steeks, vikkel braids, corrugated ribbing and more!  We're taking registrations now!

New Year, New Yarn Line for the Shop!

It's a New Year, so I thought it would be a great idea to bring in a new yarn line into the shop.

I am so excited to say that we are now carrying Jamieson & Smith yarns from the Shetland Islands!

Our first order of their 2 Ply Jumper Weight yarn made it "across the pond" and is out on the shelves (this is a fingering weight yarn), with more on order!  If you love to do colorwork, this is a perfect yarn.....mittens, tams, vests, sweaters, and more.
