More Goodies!

It's been a busy day for new arrivals!
We have a new yarn and some darling little patterns from Blue Sky Alpacas.  The yarn is called Royal Petites and is 100% Royal Alpaca (super soft).  The patterns for the yarn make use of 1 - 2 balls, so they're relatively quick knits (and would be good for a quick holiday knit for someone on your list!)

Our box of Malabrigo seemed to take a slight detour in its' travels to us, but it finally arrived late today.  We have more Rios, Arroyo and Rasta, and..........
the highly anticipated Malabrigo Book 4 IS HERE!!!

Keeping those projects nice and tidy!

If you're a knitter, chances are you are also a project bag "collector".

I love a nice project bag that I can tuck my knitting project into to keep it all safe and sound while I carry it around inside my larger knitting bag.  I hate tangled yarn, and I don't want to waste any valuable knitting time trying to untangle the yarn for my projects, especially this time of year!

We have a nice supply of different types of project bags in stock for the holidays including these darling sheep and ram bags!  While they are great for your own projects, they are also great gift ideas for the knitter on your list too!

Yearning to Weave?

Weaving is growing in popularity in the knitting and spinning community and with the various rigid heddle looms, it is really very easy to learn!

If you're interested in giving this a try, we have added another weaving class to our schedule.  In just two classes, you'll have a beautiful houndstooth patterned scarf to keep for yourself or give as a gift (just in time for the holidays!).

Don't have a loom?  Don't worry!  We have Cricket Looms available for rent for the duration of the class for a minimal fee of $20.00.  If you decide to purchase a loom after class is over, we'll deduct the rental fee off of the price of the loom.

Come on.....give it a try!

Hoping for Winter!

We just received another new book into the shop yesterday called Shades of Winter

It's an absolutely beautiful book - all the patterns are knit using naturally undyed colored wools in cream, gray and beige.  The garments - tops, sweaters, dresses, mittens, shawls and scarves - are all constructed in a variety of textured stitches to show off the beauty of the yarn.

The book makes me long for snowy, cold days!

Another publication that showed up today in the shop is Interweave Knits for Winter 2013.  Of all the magazines that we receive into the shop, I still like the Interweave publications the best.  This one is no exception - great patterns including the cover cabled cardi.  My favorite is the Professor Jackson's Scarf.  This one would be a great scarf for the guy on your holiday list and would be FUN to knit!

Bring on Winter!!!

Now that Halloween is over, Holiday Knitting Season is in full force!

Are you stumped as to what to knit for that special someone on your list?

We just received in a gorgeous yarn that is sure to please even the pickiest of gift recipients (or, for that matter, yourself too!).

Let me introduce Rowan's Kidsilk Haze Glamour

If you are familiar with Kidsilk Haze, this is the same yarn, but with the added beauty of sequins!  There's just the right amount of sparkle without being "over the top".

Of course, there's a pattern booklet with some stunning tops, scarves, and wraps using this yarn, but we also have a few other options that only use a couple of balls of yarn -
How about the Mohair Bias Loop from Churchmouse Yarns and Teas?  We also have a brand new pattern from Churchmouse called the Ruched Scarf and Wrap that would be absolutely stunning knit out of this yarn.   And if you're in a lacey scarf mood, we have a free pattern available for a beautiful scarf!

Also, for those of you not on our emailing list, here's a copy of our latest newsletter with all the latest and greatest, as they say!
