Another Mmmmmmm........!

Why is it that some of the best yarns start with M?

First we had Mmmmmm...Malabrigo!
Next was Mmmmmm...Misti!

Now (back in stock, finally!) is Mmmmmm...Madelinetosh!

Yesterday we received Madelinetosh Tosh Sock, Tosh Merino Light and Pashmina!   Need a little pick-me-up due to the dreary day?  Come on in and check out the pretty yarns from this company!  A word of warning though, these tend to go out the door quickly!

Misti for Holiday Knitting

At this time of year, we start gearing up for holiday knitting!  One of our perennial favorites for great hand-knit gifts is Misti Alpaca.

You know the holidays are getting closer when UPS drops off a whopping big box from Misti Alpaca and our delivery arrived late last week!

We have some great colorways in Misti Alpaca Hand Paint Chunky.  This is 100% Baby Alpaca in a chunky weight which makes for a great, fast scarf or cowl.  (We have a great one skein scarf pattern that we give out with the purchase of a skein of this yarn.)
If you're more of a tonal type of person, we have Misti Alpaca Tonos Chunky which is a hand paint tone on tone chunky yarn.  A nice blend of 50% Merino and 50% Baby Alpaca makes this another super soft yarn.  I've made awesome Bella Mittens out of this one for holiday gifts for my daughters - and now I think I deserve a pair too!
One more great yarn that we just received from Misti Alpaca is Qolla Worsted.  This one is more tonal in nature also, and the blend is 80% Merino and 20% Alpaca.  When I opened up the box and opened up the bags of this yarn, my immediate thought was how nice a Hawthorne or a Harmonia's Rings would be.

I don't think I'll ever get caught up on everything that I want to knit, but it sure is fun trying!  ;)

Liberty Wool now in a finer gauge

A few years back, Classic Elite Yarns introduced a new yarn called Liberty Wool.  It's been a very popular yarn in the shop with the somewhat-stripey element that you get when you knit it up.  I've made several scarves and even a cardigan and baby sweater from it.

This year, Classic Elite Yarns introduced Liberty Wool Light, which, as the name implies, is a lighter gauge version of this great yarn!

Liberty Wool Light knits up at a recommended gauge of 6 stitches per inch on a US #4 needle.  Classic Elite has two free hat patterns available on their site for this yarn, and we have a little pattern booklet that has some great patterns including socks, scarves, and more.

Plus it's machine washable and soft, so it works up great for knits for babies and kids.

As I've said in previous posts, I am behind in posting our New Arrivals in the shop.

I hope you don't mind, but to make things easier this time around, I'm going to link you to our October Newsletter for the latest news from the shop!

And.....we just received MORE boxes today, so look for an updated post in the next day or so.
