Soft Noro????

OK, most of us love Noro yarns because they are fun to knit with their color changes and the way that their colors just "work" together (even when you wouldn't think they should).

But, most of us can't say that we love knitting with Noro because it is Just So Soft!

Well, I'm happy to say that NOW WE CAN!

Let me introduce you to Noro Shiraito.

This is a brand new yarn from Noro that has a blend of 45% cashmere, 45% angora and a touch of wool at 10%. I would classify this one as a heavy fingering weight yarn, with the same striping goodness of Noro, but it is next to the skin soft!

Think cowls, scarves, or shawlettes or anything next to the skin and you won't be disappointed!

New Yarn Line to the shop!

Of course, now that there is just a little bit of snow on the ground, we're starting to see the new spring yarns arrive into the shop!

I'm very excited about the latest arrival -

Juniper Moon Farm yarns and pattern booklets are here!

Their spring line has three different yarns and three corresponding booklets:

First up is Findley Dappled.

Findley Dappled is a laceweight blend of 50% merino wool and 50% silk. Each 100 gram skein has a whopping 798 yards. These are all varigated colors and the yarn just shines - beautiful! There are eight colorways available.

Next up is Sabine.

Sabine is a worsted weight blend of 30% royal llama, 30% merino wool and 40% cotton. Each 100 gram hank has 218 yards and this yarn feels wonderful - nice and soft and lofty feeling. Twelve beautiful colors to pick from in this line.

Last up is Yearling.

Yearling is bulky weight yarn with a blend of 60% merino wool and 40% cotton. 100 gram hanks again with 109 yards per hank. Again, this yarn has twelve beautiful colors to pick from.

As I mentioned, each yarn has a dedicated pattern booklet to correspond with it and the pattern collections are great - stylish and fresh and perfect for spring/summer!

New Needle Set

Today we received the latest Interchangeable Needle Set from Addi - the Addi Click Lace - Long Tips set.

What's different about this one from the other Addi Click Lace set, you might be asking? The needle tips in this set are 5" long and I'm extremely excited about this! I, personally, prefer the longer needle tips and when the original Addi Click Lace set came out, the needles just were not comfortable for me to knit with because the tips were too short. The 5" tips in this set fit nicely to the style of knitting that I do.

The other thing that is different in this set is that the cords are just a little bit different. They allow you to add a lifeline to your knitting. If you knit lace, you probably know all about lifelines and how they can really save your knitting! The benefit of being able to add your lifeline while you're knitting really is a time saver. But....the cables are great either way.

The third thing that I love about this set is that the case is a nice bright PINK! It won't be getting lost in the bottom of your knitting bag!

All in all, this set is a winner!

Give me Liberty or......

Liberty Wool, that is!

Our February colors of Classic Elite Liberty Wool Print have arrived in the shop - This month we have colorways Watercolor Rainbow and Brick Road.

We also have access to two great patterns that we can give out with the purchase of this yarn - a sweet little cardigan or a two color brioche scarf.

We also received a long-awaited order of books - including two new spinning books!

We have The Complete Guide to Spinning Yarn which includes basic techniques for beginners as well as "recipes" for more adventurous yarns to inspire experienced spinners.

Spin Art is a new book from Jacey Boggs. This book will help you master the craft of spinning textured yarns. The photos are inspiring and the book also includes an instructional DVD.
