Upcoming Holiday Weekend and TdF!

Independence Day is just a few short days away!

I just wanted to remind everyone that there will not be a SP-IT Nite this Friday, July 1st due to the holiday weekend.

Our shop hours for the holiday weekend are:
Friday, July 1: 10 am - 4 pm
Saturday, July 2: 10 am - 4 pm
Sunday, July 3: Noon - 4 pm
Monday: CLOSED

For all our spinners out there, don't forget that the Tour de Fleece starts Saturday, July 2nd! I've got a sweater's worth of fiber picked out and can't wait to fire up the wheel again! Please join our group on Ravelry and update us with your "goal" for the Tour!

Spectacularly Swirly!

Today we have two related "new arrivals" into the shop.

First of all is a new book titled "Knit, Swirl!". The entire book features patterns for different styles of swirl jackets, 18 in all, along with very detailed instructions on sizing, fitting, tips and techniques.

The swirl jackets are all done in one piece, with only one seam! (Gotta love that.)

The second part of our "new arrival" announcement is that yesterday, we received kits from Mountain Colors for the cover sweater, the Coat of Many Colors!

We have 3 different colorway kits in stock! The yarn is Mountain Colors Mountain Goat and they are stunning!

Just a quick posting to let you know that we have Three Irish Girls back in the shop!

Fall is......

Fall yarns are starting to trickle into the shop!

First up is a new yarn from Noro called Hitsuji.

This is one big ball of super bulky wool! The best way to describe this one is to think Kureyon, but on a larger scale! This is a single ply, 100% wool yarn in a 110 yard ball. Just think how fast you could knit up a cowl, scarf or hat!

Soft and Stunning!

Soft and Stunning - Today we received some hand-dyed Polwarth top from Frabjous Fibers!

For those unfamiliar with Polwarth, the breed originated from Merino and Lincoln sheep. Like Merino, it is wonderfully soft and springy, yet spins easy much like a long-staple fiber (think BFL).

We have hand-dyed Polwarth top in both 4 oz and 8 oz braids, so why don't you "give it a spin"?

Remember, the Tour de Fleece starts July 2nd. Have you picked out your spinning project yet? I think that our Schacht Sidekick Wheels will be here by then too! Last I heard, they were scheduled to ship next week!

Serious Cuteness!

If you're like me, you love little project bags. I love tucking sock & shawl projects in them, and then tucking them into my larger knitting bags.

We just received an order of adorable project bags with cute little embroidered sheep on them!

Here's a close-up of the little sheep -
