Time to Weave!

Did you hear? I've picked up a new hobby (along with several other customers here at the shop!).

Weaving with a rigid heddle loom (the loom at the right) is so easy to learn! Warping takes no time at all and before you know it, you're weaving! (As an estimate, a typical scarf can be woven in approx. 2 - 3 hours.) Did you know that you can weave with your knitting yarns?

We have both the Ashford Knitters Loom as well as a Schacht Baby Wolf on display in the shop! Stop on in and check them out!

We also have a good supply of coned yarns for weaving - both cottons (mercerized and unmercerized) as well as wool yarns.

It's a Mountain!

It's a mountain of Mountain Colors fiber, that is!

I've always been a fan of the colorways that Mountain Colors dyes. When I heard that they were now dyeing Blue Faced Leicester top for spinning, I ordered up a bunch for the shop and they ARRIVED TODAY! I love spinning BFL fiber - so soft, but yet so crimpy!

Show Your Colors!

We haven't had a new collection of Opal Sock Yarn in for some time, but I'm happy to say that WE DO NOW!!!

Introducing the Show Your Colors Collection:

If you've ever knit with Opal yarns, you know how hard wearing they are (they last and last), but also how nice the yarn is and how soft they are on your feet! To me, there is something just so soothing in knitting a "plane Jane" sock in a fun colorway.

Hmmm.....I think the orange colorway is calling my name!

Liberty Wool!

I am a big fan of Classic Elite's Liberty Wool. I've knit a scarf out of it (Molly Scarf), as well as a cardigan (Elizabeth).

This yarn has been so popular that Classic Elite offers up two brand new colorways each month.

We just opened up the box that has April's -

On the left is Campfire and on the right is Reflection Pool! Liberty Wool is a worsted weight yarn, 100% superwash wool and oh, so soft!

We have more goodies to share with you all! First of all, if you are feeling left out that you didn't join in on the Trekking Knit Along, don't be! We ordered more of the April and March yarns and they arrived!

The brightly striped socks are for March and the April sock just started, so the finished sock is still a mystery! All the patterns are still available too. This Knit Along has been GREAT! I was on a sock knitting hiatus, but I'm back! (Just in time too. My handknit sock supply needs updating!)
