Let's Get to It, Shall We?

New Arrivals -

We have Berroco Linsey -

This is a blend of 64% Cotton and 36% Linen. Each hank is 50 grams / 114 yards, and the recommended gauge is 5 stitches per inch on US #7 needle. Nice colors - some solids and some multi-shifting shades. "Cool, comfortable and colored in the sun-weathered shades of summertime, this yarn is emminently wearable.". There is great pattern support from Berroco for this yarn - It has a booklet all by itself and Norah Gaughan has used it quite a bit in her Volume 8.

Speaking of the new Berroco Booklets - here they are!

We've got Norah Gaughan Collection Vol. 8, #304 Berroco Sox, #305 Berroco Origami, #306 Berroco Glint, #307 Berroco Linsey, #308 Berroco Vintage DK & Vintage and #309 Berroco Weekend & Weekend Chunky.

Fleece Artist has a new sock yarn called Kidazzle and it is beautiful. Here's a sampling of what we have in stock.

This is a blend of 70% Wool, 20% Baby Kid, and 10% Nylon. It's superwash, so machine washable and would be great for socks or a nice lace project. The colors are simply stunning - so hard to show in a photo. I just can't do this yarn justice in a photo.

And here's a sampling of Hand Maiden Lady Godiva Sliver for the spinners. These are 50 gram bundles of 50% Wool, 50% Silk fiber.

And if you are feeling like Spring will NEVER get here, Never Fear - it has to come sometime because we have the new issue of Interweave Knits Spring in stock!

Quick Drive-By Post

I'm writing this from home and will be heading into the shop early today for a rep meeting (which always means NEW YARN will arrive!)

I'm once again behind in the new yarns that we've received and have out on the shelves this week. I hope to get some photos of the new yarns up on the blog at the very least in the next few days.

Just a quick recap of the new goodies:

Fleece Artist / Hand Maiden: We received a new sock yarn in called Kidazzle. Beautiful colors and a fabulous sheen to the yarn. It has a fiber content of wool/baby kid/nylon and is nummy. We also have some Lady Godiva Sliver in for the spinners. This is a wool/silk blend and again, the colors are wonderful.

The spring issue of Interweave Knits Magazine is here! YAY Spring!

Dream (formally Dream In Color) is restocked in Starry, Classy and Baby (their laceweight yarn). We also have their new yarn Everlasting DK. This is 100% Superwash Australian Merino Wool with great colors.

Berroco for spring has arrived! We have all the new booklets, Vintage DK (which has already been recapped), Linsey which is a blend of cotton and linen, and have freshened up the stock of Vintage, Pure Pima, Weekend and Berroco Sox.

Come on in and fondle the new stuff!!!

Vintage is Good!

Berroco introduced Vintage a while back and it is a very popular yarn in the shop. Great stitch definition, worsted weight with great yardage, inexpensive, and machine washable.

New this spring from Berroco is Vintage DK!

Vintage DK is the same great yarn as Vintage, but, you guessed it, in a DK weight! We just unpacked our order and have this great yarn out on our shelves. Right now we have 13 colorways to choose from with a few more on the way.

Of course, as with all Berroco yarns, there is great pattern support too. We've got the latest Berroco book that uses Vintage and Vintage DK so come in and check out this great new yarn!

Happy February and It's Still Winter!

The winter of snow is still holding strong and with the amount of snow, it might be around until June! (Just kidding, I hope.)

Being that we are still in the dead of winter, we're still all about winter survival knitting and with that, we just received in some great patterns!

ChicKnits has two new patterns this winter - He Said She Said and the Mondo Cable Hood.

We LOVE the ChicKnit patterns and these are no exception!

He Said She Said is made from Chunky yarn (Cascade 128 Superwash anyone?) so they'll knit up in a hurry.

The Mondo Cable Hood is just plain cute and will chase the chill away in no time!

We also received Whimsical Little Knits from Ysolda Teague, the Aestlight Shawl pattern from the Shetland Trader, the Malabrigo Loafers (mmmmmm......Malabrigo!) from Coco Knits and More!
