It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood!
I think Spring is finally trying to break through here in good, old Minnesota. I'm about to prop open the doors and get some fresh air into the shop, and the ceiling fans are reversed to "summer mode", so there is a gentle breeze about the shop - perfect for spring/summer shopping!
I have a few notable new arrivals to highlight (and as always, I'm woefully behind in my new arrival posts to the blog).
We're starting to get a good number of weavers in the shop - rigid heddle weavers, floor loom weavers and table loom weavers too! When I came across these combo reed/heddle hooks, I knew I had to bring them into the shop. They are made from brass, and are durable, and YES, they work with the rigid heddle looms too!
A fun new collection of sock yarn arrived from Opal - This one is called Smokey Eyes and Coloured Lips. While I didn't bring in the entire collection of this yarn, I did bring in a few fun colorways in it.
I have been knitting with Opal yarn for more years than I care to admit, and it is always a favorite of mine. They wear like iron, the colors and patterning that they form are fun, and they are a great all-around sock yarn.
Lastly (for this post anyway), Churchmouse Yarns has once again come out with some new patterns. One of their new ones uses Kidsilk Haze Stripe and is called the Color Play Mohair Scarf & Wrap. I love, love, love this one so much so that I decided to bring in the Kidsilk Haze Stripe to go along with it!

I've been waiting for the Knit To Flatter book from Amy Herzog to arrive in the shop and they finally showed up today! Quite a few podcasters have been reviewing this book with RAVE reviews. And who doesn't want to knit up something that they will look great in?

Five of the colorways that we ordered arrived, but I'm waiting for a few more to show up. As usual, photos can't do the pattern picture or the yarn picture justice, so you really should come in and check out this one - as well as their other new pattern, Modern Wrapper. (I'm planning a KAL for the Modern Wrapper later this summer to have ready for the Fall season! Let's just say I can just picture myself in the apple orchard or the pumpkin patch wearing this fabulous cardigan.)

April Newsletter #1, Contest Winner and more!
For those of you not on our email newsletter list, here's the link to see our April Newsletter.
For the past week or two, we've been running a contest in our Ravelry Group and with a random number generator, I've selected a winner! (Really though, you're all winners in my book!) Here's the link for those of you that entered the contest.
This was so much fun that I think we'll be running it again in May, so if you're not a member of our Ravelry Group, why not join!
Our Knit Purl Hunter KAL has started, but we're still on clue #1 if you want to join in! We still have some good color combo's to choose from too! I do have to say that I love this yarn knit up at this gauge - it's squishy soft!

Uber Soft and Chunky!
As I mentioned in my last blog post, we have received a great sized order from Malabrigo.
In this order was their brand new yarn, MECHA!
Mecha means single ply in Uruguayan Spanish. Pure Merino Superwash Wool. These beautiful hanks of yarn have approximately 130 yards (120 m) per 100 gram hank. The recommended gauge is US 10-11 needles for 11 to 13 stitches over 4 inches.
I'll have more to share later - Malabrigo Rastita is here, along with new colors in Liberty Wool from Classic Elite and new colors of Road To China Light (aka heaven in a hank!)
